Starting your project on the right path.
Exploring design options upfront is a great way to give your project strong foundations and mitigate risks, disappointment, and unforeseen changes later down the track. Without a thorough understanding of the different possibilities you may end up with a design that doesn't fully meet your needs or one that misses out on critical opportunities for creativity and innovation. By investing in our Needs and Options Phase you give yourself the opportunity to explore different design possibilities, accurately determine a budget, organise and prioritise your design needs, learn about the architectural process, and more.
Needs and Options outcomes
As an introductory step to starting your project, we’ve created three service options to ensure you can get the level of detail you want at a price affordable to you.
Depending which level you choose. you will receive:
A site visit
A detailed design brief
3 design layout options
An inspiration and aesthetic mood board
Discussion and advice on the viability of your ideas and the project for town planning
Discuss and advice on the basic outline of probable construction costs & budgets
Identification and discussion of the opportunities and any existing limitations of the site
A design presentation, including the above presented in person at our Thornbury Studio
Each of our three design options will approach your site and requirements differently and explore multiple ways of achieving your needs and vision.
The best part:
Even if you decide not to proceed with us, you will gain valuable insight, creative ideas and a solid foundation for your project. This service is free from any obligation to proceed further.
Next Step
Schedule a no-obligation introductory call.
During this call, Dean will briefly discuss your site and aspirations, answer any questions, and outline how we can work together to achieve your desired results.
If you are interested in proceeding with the Needs and Options Phase service, we will arrange a suitable time to meet on-site and discuss your project.

Case Study
Clients: Damien & Amanda.
Project: Edge House, Coburg.
Published in: Local Project & Habitus Living.
When we first met Damien and Amanda they were living in a dark, dysfunctional Californian bungalow. The space was poorly configured which caused morning chaos and lifestyle dissatisfaction. It was ultimately unsuited to their needs and routines.
What followed was an inspired creative journey that saw us transform this disconnected and dark Californian bungalow into a stunning, light filled, spacious haven that brought the family closer together and connected them with the surrounding parkland and external gardens.
What Amanda & Damien had to say:
“The process was an amazing experience, and we would love to do another project again! We are so house proud now. We love being home and love people visiting our home!”
