Discovery Phase?
At Dean Dyson Architects, we understand that your new home or renovation project is a significant investment. Choosing the right architect is essential.
The discovery phase is a low-cost yet invaluable opportunity to collaborate with us to clearly define your project's vision and objectives. By exploring design options and discussing various ideas upfront, we can help you visualise the possibilities and potential outcomes, setting you up to make informed decisions about moving forward.
With our expertise and creative approach, you can expect to achieve a clear, cohesive, and tailored design concept that aligns perfectly with your needs and budget. We will help you answer the following questions:

Discovery Phase outcomes
When considering renovating your home or a new build, the Discovery Phase is your chance to tap a registered architect's creative vision and feasibility expertise. Melbourne’s leading home renovation expert, Dean Dyson, will guide you through potential opportunities, highlight possible risks and share exciting creative ideas with you.
As part of the Discovery Phase we will:
Complete a site visit and create a detailed design brief.
Produce three sketch design ideas and options in outline form for your project.
Produce a look & feel ideas page for the potential design.
Discuss the viability of your ideas and the project for town planning.
Discuss the basic outline of probable construction costs & budgets.
Discuss the opportunities and any limitations of the site.
Prepare a 2-page design presentation, including the above presented in person at our Thornbury Studio.
Each of our three design options will approach your site and requirements differently and explore multiple ways of achieving your needs and vision. Our Discovery Phase process typically takes 7-10 days from receiving confirmation and costs $2,100 + GST.
